Abstract: The red algae of genus Gracilaria is important as food for the green snail in its seed production and brood stock culture (Kikutani, 1994). The Ministry of Fisheries of Tonga presently maintains 73 green snails in a 4.5m3 concrete raceway tank with Gracilaria sp. as the main food.
